Karlina Veras - What do I dream when I dream about the future?
What Do I Dream When I Dream About the Future" is a music piece piece that merges spoken word with an ethereal, futuristic soundscape. This introspective work explores existential questions about time, identity, and memory, weaving surreal imagery with emotional reflections on transience and hope. The spoken narrative, layered with distorted voice modulation, asks profound questions such as: "What memories do we have of the future?" and "How does time reshape our perceptions of self?" The ambient, rhythmic track, composed by the artist, provides a dreamlike backdrop, creating an immersive and transformative experience that invites listeners to journey into the fluid boundaries of past, present, and future.

What do I dream when I dream about the future? Me, submerged in a magical machine with its sharp rows, selected rainbow, charged through my smell. Smell of angel food cake, minted lemonade, slushy brains, daydreaming about the next would… Daydreaming, daydreaming, daydreaming. I daydream that time’s static; yet nothing stays the same. Hahahahahah hahahahahah A crowd of gullible beings has lost aside get closer and closer everytime, dangled in a subtle space between. Hello? Can you hear me? Argggggghhhhhh…. Let me out, let me out, let me out, let me out, let me out…. Let me out, let me out, let me out, LET ME OUT!!!!!!!!! I dream about a frozen memory I You I You Us faded. Like a failed Royal no one cares about anymore. I You Us? Sturdy Ivy that has suddenly given up. Static. Tiny. Tiny little time. Are you us? Are you us? Are you us? I cannot longer grasp it, hear it, smell it. I cannot longer grasp it, hear it, smell it. My breath, the wind, the world insane; occupying… That borrowed space. A pile of other possible lives. I dream. I dream I hide another version of myself in another time, another space, another earth. A version where I’ve been…slightly happy? I dream Pitter patter raindrops as water tickles down the ground. Grass smells of overgrown spring onions, heavy rain. I shimmer freely. I I I I
